Games consoles costing us extra £40 a year

British Gas conducted research and found that owning a PS4 costs households an extra £ 35 a year, while the popular Xbox One costs a whopping £43 a year. This is due to the improved graphics on games consoles but also the fact we are now more likely to leave consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One on all the time.

Households who own both the PS4 and the Xbox One are paying an extra £78 per year on energy bills.
