Can you go too far to repair a boiler?

Here at 0800 REPAIR central command, we’ll go to considerable lengths to repair your appliances, but a story in the Daily Mirror shows why we have local franchises.

A hapless maintenance engineer made a 500-mile round trip from Nottingham to Devon to fix a probation office boiler. Then, a second engineer drove from Hereford – this time a 350-mile trip – to take care of the SAME job! In this instance, it happened because the justice department in question was committed to using one maintenance firm for all their emergencies – just a shame it wasn’t a local one!
